Papu Design is part of the Finnish Textile & Fashion Association's Carbon Neutral Textile Sector 2035 commitment. Common to all companies that have taken part of the commitment is the desire to actively work for a cleaner future.

The commitment provides textile companies concrete tools to mitigate climate change. The companies involved will have access to a tailored carbon footprint calculator through the commitment, as well as regular training and advice on current issues of climate change and emissions calculation.

“Responsibility has been the cornerstones of our operations since the early days of our company. We have invested particularly in the ethics of production and the most ecological and sustainable material choices possible. We are constantly evolving our sustainability work forward and measuring and reducing emissions from our operations is a natural part of this development. We believe that through the commitment we get good tools to reduce and compensate emissions. We look forward to telling our customers about the results of our work as well,” says Anna Kurkela, founder and sustainability specialist at Papu Design.

Around 20 textile and fashion companies are already involved in the commitment. All companies that have taken part are committed to achieve carbon neutrality in their own operations by 2035.
