Finnish women's clothing brand Papu Design Oy has appointed Satu Takkinen as its new CEO starting from April 8th. Satu Takkinen transitions to this role from her position as the Business Director of the Nanso brand. Anna Kurkela, the founder, and majority owner of Papu Design will continue to work within the company and its board. Jussi Kurkela will remain as the chairman of the company's board.
"We have undergone significant changes in recent years as we transitioned from children's clothing to women's clothing, and now we continue our work in developing the brand and business. We are extremely excited to have an experienced professional like Satu lead our team and take Papu towards its next phase of growth. Satu's solid experience in the fashion industry, along with her engaging personality, convinced us that she is the right person to steer Papu forward," Anna Kurkela expresses her delight.
Papu Design Oy has established a strong presence in Finland and operates internationally as well. The new CEO's task is to strengthen Papu's women's clothing brand, increase the company's revenue profitably, and internationalize the company primarily through online sales. "We were looking for someone with good knowledge of the fashion industry and strong experience in leadership, brand development, and business scaling. Satu Takkinen met all our criteria," Jussi Kurkela explains.
Satu Takkinen has extensive experience of over 20 years in developing women's clothing brands. Her career includes serving i.a. as the Business Director of Nanso and working in sales and marketing roles at Benetton. Takkinen eagerly anticipates the opportunity to build Papu together with a competent team and board.
